Career Advancement Tip #79*

Get Out of Your Head — Thinking is overrated.

Get out of your head.

We humans have a tendency to over think things-particularly when we are alone.  What’s happening is that your fear and anxiety are becoming amplified.

When you’re looking for work, your mind is probably telling you things like, “You’re not good enough,” ” You’re too old,” ” You’re too young,” “You’re overqualified,” “No one cares.” blah blah blah.

That’s called a conversation not worth having. Whether those things are true or not, they don’t empower you in any way.   They just make you a little crazy.  Most of this happens when you’re alone, looking for work. The voice gets louder.

Give yourself permission to become distracted. This puts the personalization of all these random impressions in perspective.
